Texas Tech University, often referred to as Texas Tech or TTU, is a public research university in Lubbock, Texas, United States. Established on February 10, 1923, and originally known as Texas Technological College, it is the leading institution of the Texas Tech University System and has the seventh largest student body in the state of Texas. With 1,839 acres (7.44 km2), it has the second largest contiguous campus in the United States and is the only school in Texas to house an undergraduate institution, law school, and medical school at the same location.

Program Description

The ever increasing demand for individuals with sophisticated management and leadership skills in the health care industry requires professionals whose education is strongly based in business principles. With accreditation by AACSB (International Association for Management Education) and CAHME (Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education), the Health Organization Management (HOM) program at Texas Tech is currently one of only 13 MBA-based programs in the nation focused on preparing professionals to meet this need. The HOM program combines the expertise of faculty members in business, medicine, public administration, and economics to prepare the leaders of both today’s and tomorrow’s healthcare system.

Admission Requirements

The admissions process for the MBA (HOM) is comprised of three separate applications.
  • Graduate School Application:
    • Paper or electronic application
    • Requires an application fee: $50 for domestic students, $60 for international students
    • Transcripts for all previous schools
    • GMAT scores
  • Business School Application
    • Paper or electronic application
    • Resume
    • Essay
    • Two letters of recommendation
  • HOM
    • One page paper or electronic application submitted during the initial application process. It cal also be submitted once a candidate has begun their MBA degree
