General University Information

Clayton State University is a public university in Morrow, Georgia, with 6,785 students. Clayton State University is a part of the University System of Georgia.

The main campus is located in a wooded area of 163 acres (0.66 km2), with several ponds and a lake, in the north-central part of Clayton County in suburban south metro Atlanta. The campus is located fifteen minutes from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The University has 208 full-time faculty and 356 full-time staff.

Program Description

The curriculum of the MHA is designed to prepare a variation of professionals from both health and non-health related areas to lead health service organizations. All students enrolled in the MHA will be required to take Foundation, Advanced and Elective courses, along with a Thesis and potential residency depending on length of healthcare experience. The total number of credits is 45.

Admission Requirements

Completed application for admission to the School of Graduate Studies, application for admission to the Master of Health Administration, and a $75 application fee. The application fee is non-refundable and may not be applied to any other university fees should you be accepted. These forms are submitted electronically using the online application which is available on the School of Graduate Studies website under the forms tab.

Two (2) Official copies of transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate work previously undertaken. Admission to the Master of Health Administration program requires a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale. Please note: The School of Graduate Studies cannot be held responsible for delays that occur during the mailing process.
Official acceptable scores on either the GRE or GMAT. The GRE or GMAT requirement may be waived for applicants who have earned an advanced degree from a regionally accrediting program. (Note: the MBBS is not considered an advanced degree and requires the GRE scores). The GRE institution code for Clayton State University is 5145. Clayton State University’s institution code for the GMAT is BD3-SV-70.
TOEFL scores for international applicants are required for those individuals who have not earned a baccalaureate degree from a United States institution and whose native language is not English. The minimum score on the written Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is 550 and 213 on the computer-based test. The TOEFL may be waived for an applicant who has earned a baccalaureate degree fro a regionally accredited institution in the United States.
Three letters of recommendation. Three letters of recommendation that comment on the applicant’s potential for success in a graduate academic program. Letters should be placed in sealed envelopes and contain the signature of the person writing the recommendation across the seal. Please Note: When you complete the on-line application for graduate admission you will have the opportunity to send your recommenders an email so that they can submit your letter of recommendation electronically. Once you have submitted your on-line application you will not be able to return to it to enter your recommenders contact details.
